@birdie-falling
Born in a Philippine fishing village, Birdie is an NYC professional who attends formal dinners while pretending she isn't familiar with shark diving or sneaking into diplomatic functions. So she writes stories inspired by her secret lives. With often unlikeable characters. Ally and 100% goofy human (no genAI).
Ah the "wave of doom" is a fantastic grouping of words here.
5/5/2026I wonder if we've been trained to find villains in our day-to-day stories and personal narratives, when sometimes it is just another human being doing the best they can with the resources they have. (And this isn't in the context of abusive situations.)
5/4/2026There is an option to hit "serial" on here and for your work to go on your profile shelf as a serial, and with any item that I call a serial I just try to have links to the chapter before and after. I don't have great advice so I'm interested to see what others say!
5/1/2026Adore you and no pressure the pond stays here 🤍
5/1/2026Feel this. On one hand you get to meet cool people (heeey)! On the other hand, we open ourselves up to the less fun parts…
4/30/2026Like fire 🔥 (matches his personality)
4/30/2026My cat cried to go outside, so I put him in his harness and we walked together. :)
4/30/2026And greetings to you! I copy Noh in that we will be here no worries.
4/30/2026Feel free to message me (or another one of us at Nightingale) if this is a Nightingale Press question; not sure if anyone else has mentioned a novel pitch event. 🤘🏽
4/28/2026Love it. It's clear I get nervous sharing things, even on this beautiful site. Professional overthinker! Thank you for the note. ;)
4/25/2026Genuinely enjoyed reading the submissions from here and elsewhere! Sad that an incident taught us to make our AI stance clear. Don't worry--if you think this is about you, I promise it isn't. <3
4/25/2026Yes yay a fellow Pinay! I relate to the really big family, haha. We moved from Philippines in the 90’s and I’ve had traveler’s feet since. NYC isn’t for everyone but it keeps me interested. Never a boring place, though I need a break every once in a while to somewhere quiet. I regret not yet visiting South Korea and I imagine it’s wonderful. ❤️
4/24/2026Love that you’re in South Korea! I’m in NYC by way of Beijing by way of USA prairies by way of Philippine island. 🌺
4/24/2026I think we share a brainwave because I just wrote a story about memory as a garden. I like your memory as a palace. With doors disappearing and the gates long gone. Am playing catch-up on reads unfortunately but here for it!
