The French-Goat Trench Coat
The french-goat trench coat,
Made for the captain of a boat,
Made from the hide of his pet goat,
Who had drowned in The Thing King’s moat.
It went on many travels on the sea,
Its buttons made of brass and filigree,
It once was left behind in Tripoli,
And found by The Humble-Free Bumblebee.
When the captain went down with his ship,
It went on a long ocean-bound trip,
It drifted to an isle with a ship,
That flew The Rocket-Shipped Chocolate Chip.
The Hate-All Great Wall
The Hate-All Great Wall,
Was built so long and is quite tall,
It cares not for those big and small,
Just a misanthrope that hates all.
Built to shield The Growing-Frills Rolling Hills,
From a huge onslaught of man-eating grills,
A feeling of security it fills,
Along the rolling hills with many mills.
The fortified Great Wall was strong enough to break,
The massive onslaught of grills that wanted to take,
The Compliant Giant who made a grave mistake,
To The Aioli-and-Steak Aeolian Lake.
The Room-Sick Broomstick
The Room-Sick Broomstick,
Made of hickory and two inches thick,
Sweeping kitchens was once its only trick,
Then it was broken by a falling brick.
It once was owned by The Wedge-Itch Hedge Witch,
Who flew too long and fell into a ditch,
The broomstick was roomsick and made a switch,
Flying back to its room without a hitch.
It hides in its closet and dreams away,
Hoping that somehow and maybe someday,
That someone will fix it and add some hay,
Strong and bristly that can sweep dirt away.
The Date-Farmer Plate Armor
The date-farmer plate armor,
A suit of steel that is an alarmer,
Of when the season has gotten warmer,
It’s time to harvest for the date farmer.
Great in a battle or close-quarters fight,
It proved itself worthy one fateful night,
It was hastily donned by The Bright Knight,
Shielding them from an attack of great might.
Sold at an auction to a farm out west,
Its days protecting had come to a rest,
It had yet to find out what it does best,
To tell you when dates come at your behest.
