Bobbi Lynn Dirty White Trash🦝I’m still working on my new short story that’s been in the works since March. I left it alone again for another week and a half and was able to add 300 words yesterday. I’m itching to get it done soon, but I need to slow down and let it sit and ferment a bit before picking it up again. In the meantime, I’ve other stories I wrote years ago and submitted one to an anthology. devilsrockbooks.com/our-books/submission… This anthology has a good purpose. Profit will go towards a mental health charity. If you write horror, this might be a good place to submit to. Deadline is June 28, 2026.
The wait is finally over! The submissions for our anthology are open! Submit your stories until the 15th of June for a chance at the seven remaining spots in our anthology, as well as a $250 prize. Or, if you're an artist, for the chance to have your artwork used as cover art for the anthology and $250. More details and the submission form are on our website: nightingale.press/anthology-submissions-… Looking forward to the depraved stories, poems, and artwork you're going to bestow upon us!
I'll drop this one a bit early on Wrizzit. Fictionwocky prompt for May 15th Leg 15 – The 55-Word Leg: Write a microfiction of exactly 55 words. Not 54. Not 56. Precision is required. Strip away the fat and deliver a single, nano-stab of a fatal story. A half-narrative arc, a dying utterance, or a burst of violence. Good? Ok. Count your words. WE’RE watching YOU (me and the Beast). ————————————— CHUNKS It was I who named the baboon Chunks. I thought it was ironic but poignant. I was iffy about the science of it all, and the idea of grafting automatic grass whips to a baboon’s wrists seemed fraught with danger. He’s been patiently skulking out front for seven days now. We’ve run out of water.

"What I found was an institution of learning, framed by birch and oak, and with teachers of many kinds, who taught me many trades. I have been so many things. I am still so many things. But always, always, I am your sister."

The Crooked Snake Pt. 2
A thank you to this community and elsewhere for helping us raise over $1,000 for immigrant legal aid in Minnesota through sales of this anthology. My sister says the stories are "funny" and "touching" and my high school crush says they're "slutty" and "sexy." ❤️ www.barnesandnoble.com/w/a-minnesotans-g…
A friend wanted a recording of me playing "Dueling Banjos". My hands went slow enough that I sent it as Slowly Dueling Banjos. I needed to explain Baba Yaga's house, so I just scribbled a picture using my finger on my phone. (It matches well with the one I did a few months ago of Mothman.) You don't have to make everything museum quality. Just make stuff.

"The uncanny valley reached into the depths of his brain and roiled in genetic horrors from times too ancient to fathom."
