Wow. It might take a couple novel-length worth of words to even begin unravelling all the crap I bought into across several decades. Can't believe I was so gullible. Then again we had not the access to info back then as we do now. So I will not wallow in regret or shame, but only move forward from here as best I know or am able. But yeah boy, I was definitely a dumbass.

everyone's a dumbass at some time or the other. It's an equal opportunity affliction. Younger versions of myself were very confident in their dumbassery.

If nothing else it offers a fine opportunity in the writing realms to practice satire; finding and riding that fine edge between art and polemics.
