I once had a job interview, and they asked me about my hobbies. I said that I’m a writer. “Oh, what do you want to write about?” “I want to make people cry, because that’s the highest form of emotion I’ve felt from a book I like, enjoy, and keep thinking about.” They never called me back. They probably thought I was a psycho. But I still haven’t changed what I want to write.
