🦋 National Poetry Month🦋 Day 9: Jiamari Haiku A Jiamari haiku keeps the spirit of a traditional haiku, but allows for a single extra beat. Instead of the standard 5–7–5, one line stretches slightly into 6–7–5, 5–8–5, or 5–7–6. This “surplus sound” is intentional, a soft extension that lets the moment linger just a breath longer. I place my extra beat in the 3rd line. 5-7-6 ▪️▫️▪️ Our lips brush briefly breath shared between almost words then you kiss me slowly ▪️▫️▪️
