Maybe this is a good problem to have (well, yes and no,) but whenever people read my work (poems, stories, etc…,) I rarely get constructive criticism. I’n not saying this to gloat or brag, but usually the comments I get are “that's beautiful,” “very well-written,” and “I relate to this.” And those are all fine and good. I'm honestly humbled and feel proud when I read those comments. But there's only one friend who helps point something out if it's not working. He gives suggestions that always give me things to consider. And look, I’m not saying I’m ungrateful for all the comments and sincere reactions to my writing. That NOT what this is. I think I’m just at a point where I need more readers who give it to me straight, and aren't afraid to possibly hurt my feelings. Again, I’m not saying that's any of you guys. In fact, this isn't directed at any person at all. I’m just venting because I want to continue to improve my craft. I hope I haven't offended anyone. Seriously

Not offended at all! To be honest, the main reason I don’t give critique or feedback as often is because I’m not confident enough in my own craft to have certainty. Like it could be a technical issue but it also could just be a voice difference or stylistic preference. Then similarly, it’s also difficult to decide whether the post is aiming to just express a feeling or thought, or whether it’s intentionally iterating on craft, workshop-style. Now that I know that’s what you’re looking for though, I’ll be sure to share whatever comes to mind!
Thank you, much appreciated. To be fair (I thought of this after the fact,) a lot of people probably aren't going to give feedback unless the writer specifically asks for it. After all, not everyone wants unsolicited advice/constructive criticisms. And it's completely understandable if you don't feel confident enough to give voice to your opinions on someone's work. Thank you for commenting!
Similarly, not offended. I've also wondered if folk want feedback and I think a post inviting feedback helps to separate what might just be an expression from what's a possible wip. I think I'm going to do the something similar as well.
