It isn't comfortable to admit treating it in a similar way to walking under a ladder. Logically, consciously, I know these are superstitions, and in reality another day, or a ladder along the way. Yet there will often be a pause, if ever so brief, before proceeding under or around the ladder.

If it is unlucky, at least that keeps more good luck for the rest of the year!
