For everything, down to the scribbles.
Writing fiction is like knitting (or crocheting, or sewing, or whatever string-based craft you are familiar with). If I rush through it, the threads get tangled in a big knot and I have to pull at it bit by bit to unravel the knot and get the strands to lay out flat again so I can then weave them how I want them to go to create something beautiful. Only for another knot to magically appear as soon as I put the knitting aside (if you know you know, how does it tangle when it’s not touched???) for me to then have to meticulously and gently tug and pull at the right threads to get it to unravel. Rinse and repeat.
