Xiaomi is a company you may not have heard of, and there are lots of excellent reasons to keep things that way. Xiaomi is a Chinese tech giant. They have almost zero presence outside of China, but they are hoping t change that. They make all item categories that Apple and Android devices have dominated for decades. Xiaomi hopes its new line of phones and tablets will help them compete outside of China. Like nearly all China manufactured computing devices, it will be viewed as the newest information source for Chinese Military Intelligence. China’s position(is just like Russia’s) demand all software and hardware manufactured locally contain a backdoor that is readily accessible to the State, for whatever they deem fit. This is an issue that will always hold down the Totalitarian hiding behind the mask of Communism. When innovation must face immediate state tinkering, said innovation fails to innovate.
