Defense Undersecretary claims that Anthropic is putting American at risk by not breaking their software so it’ll work with automated weapons and unmanned mass surveillance. It sounds like Anthropic is standing by its promise to be the ethical choice in AI. They’ve done this up to now by controlling access to information used to make weapons, self-harm, or blackmail. A host of other things too. I’m not saying they’re wonderful. But if the few hands at the Top of the AI pile, they’re certainly the most trustworthy, since the others are openly abusive.
