Hey writers, what app do you use to write and manage all your writing stuff? Just the Notes app, Notion, or something I haven’t heard of? I use Apple Notes and it’s become such a mess

I write in my journals for all my poetry and most prose work. I use scrivener and pages for novels, lengthier pieces. Google Docs for digitalising Substack drafts offline. And my Notes app when I don't have my journal nearby!
I write in physical journals too and then even retype it on my typewriter because well, I have a free will and because I freaking love the vibe of it, always dreamt of having one and found a really good one 🥰
Without a computer, I'm using Google Docs, but once I get a PC, I will be using Oblivion again....[[|:-)

Thus is one of my fav topics. I try every writing app. ASAP. Obsidian already has some mentions here, and it’s an excellent midlane for the writer of most anything. (I also sell Obsidian vault templates for specific projects). But, I’ve fallen in love, completely with Capabilities since August. It’s my everything Knowledge Library. Scrivener is excellent for novel type work. If you are on iOS or iPad or Mac desktop, you can use the REALLY great apps though!!!

Drafts app for Apple devices is a game changer, free, and excellent with other apps. Then Ulysses. The ULTIMATE app. No lies. Ulysses is fantastic. There’s nothing else that gets close. Mainly because it lets you go from rough ideas to published ebook or blog entry in fluid motion. Campfire Creators is awesome. I recommend these apps every day. The best thing you can do for you is drop the Word Processors. They haven’t changed since Windows XP, and it shows.
Thanks, I've seen Ulysses and thought to give it a go because I saw quite a lot of good reviews

Ulysses is fantastic. It’s not super easy to learn if you’ve not used a Knowledge Management System before. One of my favorite features is the document preview. You can view a few dozen different layouts for your manuscript complete. It has the ever awesome “Compile” feature. This lets you select from all the document files, so you can keep your chapters separate, and when you’re ready, you click compiled and it takes all the individual files and combines them, in order and generates a ToC
i use obsidian! it has a learning curve but its nice
I've tried it, not actually my cup of tea I'm afraid but I know once mastered is a powerhouse for writing
