feeling the desire to tell no one about this platform so the only people who find it are the ones coming to search for a quiet place to chill and write substack died when it started getting pushed on other socials if the trolls know we're here, they're gonna come barging in, because they love nothing more but to ruin precious things

That's my biggest fear with this platform. What actually stops this from becoming another substack?

The only thing that can stop it is the owners of it not letting it happen. Actually reviewing abuse reports and closing abusive accounts. The only thing that can stop this with any platform are the people who run it. If it's run by garbage, it will eventually become garbage. If the people are in this for money, they will do what gives them money and not what protects community. I guess we have to hold people accountable from the very beginning.

And as users, we ourselves, must shut down abuse the second we see it, rather than tell people to just block and ignore. Free speech stops in my replies/comments. You can post what you want, but not at me and not at anyone. We have to guard it too and not just hope for the best.
