The Hill
a wee bit of whimsy
There was a little old man on top of a hill
A little old man looking down
He’s checking out all the ways in
Cause the little old man has got a plan
He believes he can make it.
There’s a little green shutter on the roof of his house
With a little old scope poking out
He’s checking the clouds, to see
Cause you don’t want to get wet
rolling down the hill
There’s a pretty new spring in his step
With pressed ironed coat on his arm
His shining crown for all to see
Cause the little old man has got a plan
He’s looking down the hill.
He’s going to make it.
And all the town gather round
A sight to see is now
The little old man is rolling down
With his pressed ironed coat
Ripe with padding
Yes the little old man with the plan
Is rolling down the hill
Where the little old lady
with the bright red hat
and big old posy poking out
this little old lady is waiting smart
right at the bottom of the plan
for the little old lady with the bright red hat
has finally said
after years and years of waiting
to the little old man with the plan
Yes, I’ll marry.
the little old man
he’s left his hill.
He’s down.
