TW:Suicide.
“This? Where am I?”
Vale said to himself. As he found himself in an unknown place.
“Ah! I know this place. It's that dream.”
Vale said that as he said what was playing out in front of him.
A man in his 40s was writing a note with a lot of medicines near him. A lot of them looked too shady.
“*Sigh*, the man sighed and looked at a photo placed near where he was sitting.”
“I am sorry.”
As the man said that he quietly picked up a bottle and drank it. Finally , after some time of continuing to write the letter, tears started forming on his face and started dripping down his cheeks.
“I barely could become a good father. I am sorry Xyra. I couldn't become a good husband or a father.”
After some time the man quietly laid down on his bed and stopped moving after some minutes.
“Father, Father?”
A voice seems to ring from the house from one of the rooms.
“It's lunch time, father? Hello? Father, are you sleeping?”
A kid around the age of 13-14 came into the room where the man was sleeping.
“Father,Father it's lunch time. Wake up.”
The kid called him but he didn't wake up seeing that his face had become pale. He barely understood what was happening and tried to keep himself composed until his eyes fell on the meds nearby.
“No, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO”
A heart piercing scream was raised in the room. The kid barely holding himself back fell from his wheelchair and couldn't get himself back on it.
“No, No, I can't believe this can happen, father.”
The kid started crawling on the floor until he reached the man and started to try to climb his bed.
“I am useless.”
The kid said to himself as he grieved what was in front of him.
“I couldn't do anything for you father. I couldn't save you.”
“ I am sorry, I am sorry.”
The kid cried in pain as he came to terms with reality.
“I was the reason for my mother 's death and I am the reason for your demise as well.”
The kid said and continued further
“Only if mother didn't try to save me during that accident and I would have died that day. You, mother and brother would be living happily.”
“I am a burden on you and brother.”
“I am sorry”
The kid remembered all the things that his father and brother used to do to make him feel more loved and less lonely. Yet the fact remains that he who has gone through a horrible accident and considered himself the reason for their mother's death always had that eating away at him.
The kid saw the medicines nearby. His father picked some up and ate it and finally kissed his father and slept near him.
“Yeah, this is my life. This is the reality that I have to live with.”
“I couldn't save my father or brother.”
“Therefore, I am useless.”
Saying that vale woke up from his dream which had become a daily occurrence.
“An unknown ceiling?” Vale thought to himself, while waking up from his unconscious state.
“Where am I?”
“Oh, I remember I fought that old man,but the battle ended midway and then I lost consciousness.”
“Vale..... I can't eat any more food. Vale
fine then, if you hand feed me I will eat the food Vale.”
“Huh?
Why is Seraphina in my bed?
and what is that dream?”
“Oi,wake up.”
“I said wake up you stupid princess.”
“Huh?
Vale
Vale! Vale, you are finally awake.”
As Vale tried to move, Seraphina suddenly hugged him pressing Vale's head to her chest. Vale tried to move but the force holding him was too strong.
(if you are this strong did you need my help at all?)
Vale thought to himself while basking in the softness of Seraph.
“Vale! Vale!
I was so worried you didn't wake up at all.”
As Vale tried to move, he suddenly noticed Seraphina's face, tears were rolling down her face.
(I made her worry)
“I am sorry Seraphina.
I made you worry.
Also, how big is this bed? How did you fit in this bed?”
“hahahaha why dont you try looking at my legs.”
“Huh? human legs?”
“Yes, that is correct.”
“So you can transform.” Vale said, surprised.
“Yes! Isn't that great?” Seraphina agreed while matching Vale energy.
“Yeah,
So what happened in the two days?
Did Fang attack again?”
“No, fortunately no attack has happened
but it's only a matter of time until an attack happens.”
“Do you mean?”
“Yes, the dead snake people that were with Fang.”
“..”
“Evan reported the incident to father and father is considering various options to retaliate against the snake tribe.”
“Is that so?”
Vale said uninterested in the conflict between them. Vale tried to move away again and he lost his balance but Seraphina supported him.
“You shouldn't leave the bed, you are still injured. You need to rest.”
“I want to leave.”
Vale said with a sharp glare but Seraphina kept looking into his eyes as if nothing mattered and she knew that giving up on Vale now will only result in problems later.
As both were arguing someone suddenly entered the room. She was a beautiful woman. Maybe in her early twenties,she was wearing a long white dress. She was thin and was 175 cm tall.
“Hello! So you are finally awake, human.”
As she said that, a sharp glare pierced Vale. The next moment she moved with a speed unbelievable to Vale.
“Clang.”
“What might be the meaning of this, Woman?”
“Oh, you have guts, but your form is bad.”
“Clang”
Their swords clashed once more and Valerius could barely hold her back.
“Who are you?”
“Oh, no need to worry i am just a healer”
“A healer?”
Valerius said with a frown on his face. As if remembering something.
“I heard what you both wore arguing about
what seraph is saying is right you shouldn't move. You are still injured.”
“Clang” X2
The healer used her leg to throw Vale off balance, so she could cut him down more effectively. Mostly it showed that she was superior to him and could cut him down anytime.
“Grab.”
Vale grabbed her leg and tried to pierce her leg with the rapier he was holding and the healer finally jumped back, ending the conflict.
“So when can I move again?”Valerius questioned “Also, who changed my clothes?” Vale further added.
As Vale asked this question Seraphina blushed slightly.
“It was seraph.”
“Miss Everina, why would you talk about that?”
“WHAT!!!!?”
Vale jumped with a surprise.
As Seraphina was pouting slightly, suddenly all three of them heard a sound.
"stomach growling"
As all three of them, heard the sound Everina and Seraphina's faces broke out into smiles.
( I have been hungry since the time I got here. So it cant be helped but its still embarassing)
“Seraph and Valerius, I will bring some food for you both.”
As Everina said, she left the room with light footsteps after that.
“Vale, father wants to see you so he will maybe come and meet you.”
“Why?”
“I don't know, but he said he will come meet you. Also, Vale”
As she was about to say something, Seraphina's face became bright red, it looked like she wanted to say something important. Vale listened calmly
“Vale! Vale!”
Seraphina called Vale while looking at him.
“I am listening.”
“Vale, I want to show this town to you. so..so will you come with me?”
“Huh?”
(a sightseeing?)
“Yes, I would like to see your town Seraphina”
(besides i dont even know anything about this world so it would be a good thing if i get some information about this world)
“So when are we going on this sightseeing date?”
Vale said teasingly.
“A D.....D......date?”
(her reactions are cute.)
“Let's go when you fully recover.”
As Vale tried to move again, he noticed a surge of pain coming from his foot. He saw that his foot was covered in bandages. All bandages wore bright red because of the blood seeing that Vale decided to not move.
(It would be wise to not move now and wait for some time to heal. After I heal I will ask Seraphina to introduce some sword instructor to me. So I can master the sword.)
“Also, Vale.”
“Yes?”
“Can you look at the flower vase to your right?”
“Which flower vas-”
As Vale tried to look towards the flower vase suddenly he felt a light touch on his cheek and Vale finally understood the situation and realised Seraphina had kissed him
“This is because you saved me from Fang. Thank you, Thank you very much Vale.”
“As Everina entered the room with the food, Seraphina quickly left the room, her face bright red.”
“What happened Seraph? you don't want to eat? Also, why is your face bright red?
Do you have a fever?”
“No, I will eat later.”
“Huh? What happened? your face is bright red to Valerius, just what happened?”
“It is nothing” X2
Both of them exclaimed simultaneously which only added to the confusion of Everina.
“Just give me the food.”
Valerius said while hiding his face and feelings from Everina.
The food that he got was two loaves of bread and a soup. Tasting the soup, he realised it was lightly seasoned and had some chunks of meat in it although it may look bland to his past self but yet he was feeling that this food was straight out of a gourmet restaurant.
(I forgot to ask her about her ill brother. Is he doing okay?)
As Vale tried to ask the healer about Seraphina's brother, suddenly some guards entered the room. The air was tense from the moment the guards entered the room and finally one of the guards who had a different badge attached to his cap spoke.
“Are you finally awake, Valerius?”
“Yes, Do you need something from me?”
“The clan head has asked for you to appear in his room as soon as you heal.”
“I understand.”
“That is all, we will be taking our leave then.”
As the guards left the room they finally relaxed and Vale asked the question.
“What happened to Seraphina's brother?
Is he fine now?”
“Seraphina’s brother? He is fine now although his fever has not gone down.”
“So, why did the clan head's daughter have to go picking the herbs and not some clan head’s underling?”
“well, its a long story”
Vale listened quietly as Everina explained.
“Ten years ago, when Seraph and the crown prince were out playing in the fields. An unknown monster attacked them. The crown prince and Seraph, knowing the fight was inevitable, decided to confront the monster.
“...”
Vale now paid more attention to Everina's explanation.
“While they were attacking the monster some of his blood fell on the crown prince's body and suddenly the crown prince lost consciousness. After that the monster also mysteriously left the only people left there was the unconscious crown prince and Seraph.
“So? Was that monster's blood cursed?”
“We don't know anything about that monster. Where he came from, where he went it's all a mystery. The only thing we know for certain is that the crown prince became unconscious after the monster's blood fell on him.
“Hmm, So why did Seraphina go all alone to get the medicinal herbs?”
“That’s because that area is off limits to all scorpion people.”
“Why?”
“We don't know that. It was one of the conditions of the peace treaty. If we wanted to establish peace we had to let go of that place and at first the clan head didn't think much of that area, so he let it go but some days back it was discovered that there are medicinal herbs there that can maybe heal the crown prince.”
Everina said that with a little hope gleaming in her eyes.
“And?”
“A meeting was held and it was decided for the time being to not approach the place until it is confirmed that the place actually holds the medicinal herbs.”
“I see.”
“It was a secret but seraph somehow got to know it and she asked her father for the reason why they are not immediately going to that place to get the medicinal herbs.”
“..”
(That sounds just like Seraphina.)
Vale quietly thought to himself.
“Her father said that they are still deciding on that matter after arguing with her father for days. She decided to take matters into her own hands and decided to go there herself and get the medicinal herbs”.
“Do the medicinal herbs work?”
“Yes, they do work.”
“So will they declare war on the snake tribe then?”
“It seems that way.”
“Also, what aptitude does the crown prince have?”
“A kite. So five elements.”
