That’s Entertainment

I could feel the heat of you calling me
across the air locked room
two dancing dust motes
an idea of us
floating
threading
the dead air
~breathless
soft insistent pulse of heartbeat
skin rattling dry as a drum
the scaffold of your kiss holding
~compression in my lungs
receptors at first passive
then heat
rising collecting boiling scalding
Urgency demand insistence
~compulsion
As one body teetering on the edge
of annihilation
two free
floating
galaxies
~colliding
the fuzzy edge of vision hammering
a temple of monochrome shadows
black and white symmetry
holographic uncertainty
flickering reality
blurred
existence
~optional
I could touch the dark of you
the whore inside me begging
and stretching
for freedom
your desire a serpent
hard muscle
coiled
strangling
~any remaining resistance
a core reaction
held tight in your embrace
the twin headed beast rose up
to savagely consume us
~cataclysm
~~~~~~
And then the looking glass seemed to ripple
and shimmer with applause
A persistent grey fuzzy static
of loud buzzing chittering fragments
blurred babel talk a vague distant quibbling
garbled gargled
as though underwater
~ jargon with side bets of laughter
a multitude of claws
reaching
shaping
fondling
wanting
bottomless maws open to devour us
drooling lips pressed grotesque
~against the saliva silvered surface
our lust replayed for their gratification
two mortal actors billed for amusement
on a dark dreary night
in the halls of the mighty
where eternity weighs heavy
on the shoulders
-of Immortal Gods
I recall seeing a holographic string quartet exhibit many moons ago at Earl’s Court, when such technology was in it’s infancy.
And I remember thinking this will be the future of entertainment, the grandeur of voyeurism, classical recitals, phantom pornography….’Light’ Entertainment. Alas it wasn’t to be.
This is an exploration of characters from inside their holographic world and how they might perceive an alternative reality simultaneously taking place outside of their immediate sphere of existence. An interface between dimensions, between observed and observers.
Of course there’s a metaphor lurking in there too.
If you got this far, hope you enjoyed reading, Sea 😊😘
