terms & conditions

Call it love or lust,

or something in between. 

It matters not.

It is but a contract,

a binding agreement, 

to break your own heart.

Whether it is unrequited, 

or soulmates rejoined;

even a single night— 

An affair of hearts 

will always end 

in at least two pieces. 

Breach of contract, 

early termination, 

force majeure,

death.

No matter the cause, 

the contract will expire.

But perhaps 

that is the whole point.

Because 

to love 

is worth

the terms and conditions.
