So Hot You're

Look, Northern Hemisphere,
I know you’re rearing
to let your lover’s rays stitch the
wind until a fan, well, down here
behind the blackout curtain’s singing
So hot you’re hurting my wheeling
blades.
They keel!
I get a lotta bit sticky,
get an LED headlight glimmer to me.
You make a couch a wick of me.
So hot you’re melting my peeling
sweat with the frigid shower—
Can’t cool!
So hot you’re killing my AC.
Can’t cool!So you can thank my AC still not being fixed in spite of us trying to get the ball rolling almost two weeks ago for . . . this? I hope you enjoyed whatever this is; my brain’s a little loopy in the heat to say the least, lol. It’s gonna’ hit highs in the upper 80’s in my neck of the woods for the next few days (like think 30~32 Celsius for you international folk who never bore the curse of learning imperial measurements). Anyway, if you haven’t listened to Caroline Polacheck, whaaaaaaaaa diva get into it. I took heavy inspiration from the first song of hers I’d ever heard wayyyy back in 2019. I get obsessed with songs and end up coming back to them (and maybe replaying them on loop like a lot a lot, ok?), and “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” is one of them for sure:
