Slip me in the sea
and let me sink
to the dark, cold depthsI’ve grown weary
of the beach’s waves
wrenching me to and fro
the churning ebb and flow
of which
I’m yearning to let goAnd done as well
with shifting sand
and instability;
the blinding wind’s
unwanted chills
that kill security.Let me lie
beyond the roar
and rest in peace
on the ocean floor
where bottom feeders
will absorb me back
into nature’s wheel
to live anew
once again.Hopefully
with more love,
more purpose,
more point. So, slip me in the sea
and let me sink
to the dark, cold depthsI will not miss or mourn the sky
the sand, the waves or shore
for I’ll become a thousand things
I never was before.

Beautifully tragic and compelling prose. Thank you for sharing, but stay on the ground with us!
