Romance
a cynical poem

Mickey loves Minnie and Minnie loves her mouseboi Mick
Snowdongles loves her Widdle Woger Winkie lots n' lots
Cathy loves Heathcliff if I remember right or maybe not
I wubs woo! I wubs woo, darkheart!
Daddies love mommies, mommies nurture kids: this is normal normalcy
Gays love twinks, lezzies love their women - not that there's anything wrong…
Patriots love their flag. They hug it close, deep inhale the mildew and the black black mold
Misery loves company is what they say
The lusty spermatazoa's enamored of placid ovum and her urgent homing reek
Tusked walrus guards his mate, yet harbors a secret yen for the wobble and blood of combat
Salmons with love for waters where they spawned yearn to mingle milt and roe then die gaping
Circles and piercing points, struggles and release
Missile guidance circuits are in implacable love with their designated objective
USA USA dotes roaring on touchdown endzone, on flybys, sodasnack buzz, yearly targets
Airforce lusts to launch bunkerbuster white phosphor napalm cluster-bomb precision guided munitions
at daddies and mommies and kiddies, at clinics and temples and schools
Does the great sequioa love the expansive sky in which it stands?
Who knows such things? We see what we can see: the tug, the tussle, the final yielding sigh
We feel these great systems fall across us like blankets, like heaviest of shrouds
We living, we wild besotted with such death to grow
