Rearing Hideousness
a short poem
(I wrote this because poetry is the most effective means of self-expression, and it's how I process the thoughts and emotions going on in my head. In retrospect, though, I also wrote it for anyone that might be going through the same or similar thing, and to remind us that there is always hope and free will. We can't let the darkness win. Always choose to prevail.)

What do you do
when the streets feel cold,
when the world turns gray?
When the most energy
you have is expelled on
the frivolous, instead of
necessary things, vital to your being,
to your creativity
and individuality?
Do you lie in bed, succumbing
to this malaise and
pressing darkness?
Or do you inexplicably fight to overcome it?
