Poetry Aplenty: Volume I
Some poems that I've written since I've been on Wrizzit.
I don’t normally write poetry this often, but you Wrizzlers have inspired me to write more of it. You are all so talented, and I'm even learning things like, what a cinquain is. Now I even know how to write one thanks to @lknesse.
Here are the poems I’ve written since I’ve been on Wrizzit. Some are just little ditties and don’t have titles….[[|:-)
Here’s a new one to start:
A little poem about Wrizzit,
It’s not just another writing site, is it?
A community of Substank refugees,
Who all deserve a chance, I beg you please.
Oh, Saturday,
The day of Saturn.
Repeating your will,
In a seven day pattern.
The day after Friday,
For relaxation and rest,
Time for fun and parties,
The day I love best.
Good night, good night,
I’ll turn off the light,
It won’t be too bright,
Til morning takes flight.
If you’re not in it,
Simply to win it,
Then take a minute,
And learn how to spin it.
The Eternal Kernel
The eternal kernel,
The corn that wouldn’t pop.
They tried to fry it in a pan,
But it melted and they had to stop.
They used a Japanese machine,
It applies pressure that causes heat.
But what came out in the end,
Was nothing you’d want to eat.
It was blackened now,
And the smell was unpleasant.
So they shot it into space,
To become a cosmic present.

Wonderful! Even silly poems are valid. They work for developing skill, and more importantly, they can bring out the joy in little things.
