Paradise Found

It had been a wonderful day, the sun was hanging low in the sky and its light still sparkled upon the sand and shells. They walked together, holding hands, fingers entwined, not a care in the world, along the waters edge enjoying the peace and harmony that this amazing place had brought them. Small waves lazily creeped up the sand and over their toes. This was truly a place they could see themselves retiring to.
They had expected to be back at the office on Monday, both had meetings scheduled for most of the week with very little rest time. The hustle and bustle of city life and all the issues associated with life and work had melted away after only a few days on the island. It truly felt like a piece of paradise had grabbed them and pulled them in. Not only had their minds relaxed but their bodies, although they were hungry, felt better for the enforced detox. They hadn’t eaten much since they arrived and were living off foraged fruit, berries, washed up tins and fresh water, with no plastic bottles in sight.
They had explored the whole coastline of the island which could be walked in about three hours. The plan for the next few days would be to explore inland through the forest and bushes to see if there were any secrets to be found.
“fish would be nice for tea”
“are you going to catch it?”
“thought I would order in but I seem to have lost my phone”
They both laughed together, turning towards the sea and leaning their heads together, squeezing their fingers together. Walking back up the beach to where they had set up camp on a flat area just off the beach, shaded by tall palm trees. They had collected logs and sticks from the beach and forest to build a shelter and make a kitchen area.
“it will be dark soon and we should probably get some rest”
“rest! you are funny, rest from this”
“maybe help will arrive tomorrow”
“and rescue us from paradise?”
Five days had now passed since they washed up on the shore with the remains of their boat.
