Home Recipe
I dabble with home cooking and have been getting into making more things. Hobbyist here, if yall have tip/tricks feel free to suggest them!
Below is my take at a delicious home pizza! Been thinking about making this again soon and thought I'd share with our new Wrizzit friends!
Feel free to try it out and LMK what yall think!
Ingredients:
Crust:
- 2 cups of flour
- 3/4 cups of warm water
- 3 tsp of Active Yeast
- 1 pour of vegetable oil
Add dough seasoning of your choosing:
I like:
- Powder Garlic
- Thyme
- Oregano / Italian herb mix seasoning
-----------
Crust Sauce:
- 1 tbsp of Chopped/minced Garlic
- 1 pour of Veggie Oil
- 2 tbsp of Tomato or Alfredo Sauce
------------
Pizza Filling/Toppings:
- 4-8 tbsp of Tomato or Alfredo Sauce
- 1 cup Mexican Mix Cheese / Parmesan Cheese
- Pepperoni or meat of choice
- Arugula
------------
Mix dry ingredients first, then add wet. Let them sit for 1 min and then knead the dough till smooth and create a rounded ball.
Let the ball set for 30+ mins
(Longer you let set the more ~fermented/tangy profile the bread/crust will have from the yeast)
Once the dough has risen a bit, take a pinch of flour and coat the outside of the dough ball all around. Then take the baking pan you intend to use, coat the pan with veggie oil butter or spray oil. It helps to make crust crispy.
Coat your hands in flour to avoid the dough sticking to ya too much. Then place the dough ball in the center of the pan and begin flattening it with your palm. Once you have the basic shape started, take a rolling pin, coat the rolling pin with flour and roll the dough out. Once you get it to the thinness you want, pull and stretch the dough to create the circular shape. (Handrolling works too, just takes longer todo it all with your palms)
Once in the shape we want, take your choice of sauce (Basic tomato sauce, pizza sauce or Alfredo sauce) ( Alfredo is my favorite) and spoon out the amount you'd like. I normally use 4-8 table spoons depending on how thick the sauce is. Then take the back of the spoon and spread out the sauce evenly. Then take your choice of cheese ( I use Mexican mix from heb) and create a ring of cheese around the perimeter of the pizza. Once done, roll the edge of the crust over the ring of cheese and tuck the crust in on itself. This creates a stuffed crust like experience.
Once done, take the cheese of your choice (can be the same or different like parmesan) and fill the inside of the pizza with cheese, then add your toppings on top the cheese. (You can also add veggies like mushrooms or Arugula)
Lastly, you can create a crust sauce by pouring some veggie oil or butter into a bowl, add some of the sauce (can be the same or different I like using red sauce for crust if white sauce was used in the center) and a tbsp of fresh minced garlic. Then microwave the sauce for 30 seconds.
Mix it all together, Then take a spoon and spoon out the sauce on top of the crust edges and use the back of the spoon to spread it all over the crust.
Lastly, take any remaining crust sauce and drizzle it over the entire pizza in the design of your choosing. Like you're spreading Ranch or another sauce. (I like todo a swirl or squiggle design)
Pre-heat the oven to 350F and bake the pizza for 35mins. (32mins for softer crust, 38 for crunchy crust)
Once done, take it out and let it rest for 10mins and Enjoy ๐
