Boot heel dug sideways. A voice filtered behind glass.
Microphone loud. Community. Collective. Advocacy.
Papers burn underneath her fingers. The cherry wrapper twisted in her mouth.
She wears a shell, formed a barrier, bullet proof.
Women are the enemy in the community.
There can only be room for one.
She screams collaboration under the guise of control.
Favoritism in its pious form.
Lies lit up like fireflies in the night.
Warmth cognitive dissonance, her diction.
What fiction.
Projected disguise.
Don't you get tired of the fight?
It's never enough unless you're number one.
Hollowed bones in brooded nests.
Words overdressed, I am unimpressed.
Vain economy, blame the dopamine.
I'll let you polish your pout. Stick it out.
Billboards blink, smother the dark.
