My favorite feeling of happiness
is the contentment i feel
seeing you so happy
There's nothing more compelling
and nothing more rewarding
than seeing you talk
about something you love
Or seeing the way your eyes light up
when you get a gift you want
Or seeing you just melt in my arms
after the day's been long and hard
Or even watching you busy at work
with something that needs to get done
And by then, I'm not entirely
listening.
By then,
my mind's not really there
I am simply just existing
And forgetting not
to stare
There's nothing more I want
than to be with you
forever
The contentment I feel
brings a tear to my eye
I have to turn my head away
for just a moment
so you don't see me cry
For in the kindest way
you'll make me reassure
that I'm all right
Of course I am, I just
feel so content with you
Because my favorite feeling
in the world
is the feeling of joy
when I'm with you
It is the feeling of contentness
and comfort
that I find when looking at you
Even more when you look at me
the way you always do
I wish I could live in the moment
When my smile feels soft
but I know it spreads
from ear to ear
When I grin,
not at something you said right then,
but at something I remember
Because you make me smile
by just existing
and being there,
even if you're not so close
None of it compares
to the way you hold onto me too
be it in your heart or with your arms
So tight when you hug
As if you'll never let go
So close to your chest
As if I could meld to your skin
So loving when we kiss
As if the imprint of you on me
Will last a lifetime
My favorite feeling of contentness
Is the feeling of happiness
Seeing you so content with me
