Music, why, oh, why?
The “Creator’s have to start getting fans under their own hanger.”

I’ve seen a lot of talk recently (and rightly so about content creators going back to the golden days of internet ways, by which I mean moving everything away from streaming platforms and into a place where creators can interact directly with their people.
See, spotify and other streaming services really screw the little guy. The small film of royalties earned goes to the top 40 service wide. It’s hard as hell to get somewhere in music, and now the talent I really want to hear isn’t even getting a penny for how often I reply their albums
while I see this as a must “next step” for musicians, actors, and others soon, I also view it with the disdain of a man who had an enormous music catalog, on CD. Then mp3, then streaming.
My tastes spread far and wide and I absolutely cannot go back to having 100s of CDs and trying to actually manage what I hear at the same time. The industries are talking about artists getting their fans under their own “tent “ “hanger,” or “barn with a side missing.”
Now I love live music most of all, but there’s just no way I can give that kind of attention to all the musicians who make music that I love.
Where’s the middle ground?
I can’t see it.
I’m Jack Lhasa.
You are Amazing.
