Morning comes when 

birds announce

the soon-to-be

arrival of the sun. 

Nocturnal creatures

find their way home, 

exhausted and inebriated 

by the moonlit hunt. 

Flowers awaken,

shake off the dew, 

and turn their faces

to watch the day.
