The emergency radio crackled with static.
"This is flight commander Stein if the SC Fusion , we have set down on a planet moon in the Chinbre area of Quadrant L. If you can hear this, please send help. We are a crew of six and have food rations for approximately three months and if nothing fails, enough fuel to keep the oxygen, water, A/C and gravity functioning for several months. The fusion 4 suffered major damage before a heavy set down and is not repairable at the moment with the equipment we have. We were held safe and secure in the hold during the set down, a few bruises from the straps but nothing too serious. From previous records we found, the moon is baron and our sensors suggest the planet is stable, there is no breathable air on the surface, for humans anyway, and the average daytime temperature reaches around 160 Celsius. If that doesn't get you then the -280 at night might!"
He lets go of the old style mike button and looks around, it is quiet except for the hum of computer fans and the ac unit. leaning back he kicks his feet u onto the desk in front, closes his eyes and sighs deeply.
"We have been here for 28 days so hoping that a search and rescue party has already be dispatched and is listening to this message. Although we have power, our communications are out and most of the bridge is out of bounds due to the high level of damage to the exterior hull. We have no suits to wear so cant explore damaged areas of the ship or for a transfer to a rescue ship so I do hope you will have spares with you. We have left on all the exterior lights and any unbroken strobe lights switched on, we still don't know if the ship is still sending out a distress beacon or a whether it is still transmitting any information on location and flight plans."
Stein let his finger slip off the mike button and the radio crackled and went silent. Stein liked his new self titled role of Flight Commander, bit of a step up from Logistics Officer where he spent his days ensuring there were enough rations to last the mission and also the correct equipment to do the mission they were on. All six surviving crew members had chosen new high ranking titles to help pass the time since they crashed, the highest being Guardian of the Universe. He leant forward and grabbed his coffee, took a sip and pressed the button on the mike again,
