Every Planet Orbits Its Star
And so do I

Each planet must orbit its starSo it is no surprise that stillI keep running circles around youWho would I be to violate The universal rulesA child of wander I once wasStars in the eyes instead of irisesBut then I saw your faceOne shining so brightly it’s blindingIt left Sirius in hiding You wanted to watch the stars with meAnd I forgot about the beauty of the night sky When the brightest star stood in front of meAnd yet so far above I reach for your face as I used to reach for the starsBut it seems further than the distant skyGravity applies to my attractionIt pulls me closer even if I resistBut I’m unsure if the same laws Apply to your fractionPull in and push away pull in once againAligns more with your rules of reactionWho would have thought?A star defying its own charterBut one is always the star The centre of the galaxyDictating the order of the worldThe other its followerTracing every movement With adoring devotionBut as it stands in a curious case Not every star must have its planetsSome remain aloneWith planets whisked away from the systemWandering through the intergalactic realmsLost and lonely in the whole wide spaceAm I the deserted star?Whose only fate is to burn aloneAnd explode at lastOr the forsaken planet?Destined to roam for eternityIts freedom tasting of iron clawsBut before I find out I must spinIn order for the space to stand still Unheard of me to let disarray winTo leave my star with a shine so thinTo commit the cosmic sin0
