CHAPTER 4
It was peak silence and the world at its miserable state sought for some divine helper to turn round their situation. They looked desperately around seeking for a savior. The path was empty, no soul in sight. Its as though even birds and animals are affected by this. Their houses weren’t that far but their legs didn’t feel right so they hobbled all their way. Sander could feel almost all the pain he felt before coming back after a while. The ointment worked a while but wore in an instant, the dragged their legs and the scratching sound could be heard. All of them found themselves in front of Endemi’s house and her house was unscathed, she rushed inside panicking and found the house empty, its as if it was vacant. The furniture was gone and the wall was scratched and the house was absurdly smelly. They held their nose tight and walked to find blood splattered in the right far corner of the living room. The pungent smell pricked their nose, they couldn’t figure out what it was but the smell was everywhere even back in the school. Endemi wailed at this sight, she screamed calling out to them. She cried for so long that her face turned red and her eyes bulged. Everyone’s effort to comfort her worked out and she felt good after a while. But adding to the situation, they found out that the same fate was for everyone’s parents. They were absolutely left with no one to comfort each other. They stared blankly at the sky in a park sitting round a bench. The park was with no life.
Well Hernuil had no human fears, he has no one to lose. He wanted to comfort them but he couldn’t find the right words that would save them from their distress. He could only remember the comforting words his grandparents told him “ we are with you, we will be with until our last breath. Your parents will look at you from heaven so please grow into a boy they will be proud of’. Hernuil remembers them and those words really helped him a lot. He now suddenly misses his grandparents. He looked at his friends
‘your parents are not dead like mine, they are living somewhere and they must be wondering about your safety or thinking about whether you are dead or alive, this ain’t the time to stare blankly, we need to save them and we need to find the way. They must be alive’ he said feeling proud of how nicely he talked. He has never done this before. They all felt something in them “well maybe he is right”. Chrise sighed ‘maybe he is right, we don’t even know about if they are dead. Let’s do something, come on’. Everyone now stared properly I guess, they all looked at each other to check whether anyone had any plan popping up. Everyone looked as blank as each other.
Chrise said ‘well the Ermile Tower is our only hope for now, if they were captured I suspect varied things would have happened’.
Sander said ‘what do you mean varied things?’.
Chrise said ‘it would have been rather worse’.
Endemi said ‘more worse, you saw what happened. What more worst could have happened?’.
Chrise bellowed ‘our whole island and Island Ties would have sunk, they have improved over the years rather drastically and we have been deteriorating. Our resources are used up and we are responsible for the polluted resources. Magroco Island affiliated with Medrara and grew up and we had pride problems are we didn’t even foster their step up. We didn’t attend the gathering meeting, we totally took no step to be one but still called ourself “ties” when we are not even tied. Who knows what happened and how these Sun Scissors entered? We are united in what sense. We are so incapacitated Endemi and they have always wanted to erase our existence. If they found their way in, it is milli second before they could sink us underground without creating any impact. They only captured us and they didn’t even have to do it. The Ermile Tower our only uniting string is very strong and it must behind the reason for our island still staying. I am hundred percent sure’.
Endemi understood the harsh reality and so did everyone. Everyone stared weakened at the ground, the fact that the Ermile Tower could still be there gave them some confidence but the probability of it being low but him saying “100 percent” made them wanna cry.
Chrise said ‘I know it’s not believable, but trust me it is based on actual assessment, I might have shouted out unpopular opinions but truly I am true’.
Everyone trusted their intelligent pal who have always been practical and logical in any situation. The frustration could be felt, the invasion was because of their fault because of their vulnerability and also because of denial of it. The whole situation is understandable, deep down in everyone’s heart they knew this was going to happen if they kept going like this. But the situation was said to never happen by their ancestors. The breaking of the Signal Barrier felt impossible, but now they know how weak they are. They couldn’t protect anything. Chrise always accepted the truth and always knew what was real. He is the right leader in this situation.
He said ‘Let’s head to the Ermile Tower, we might as well save ourselves and the others and snap out to face the frustrating reality and fix this flawed world’.
Everyone felt it, the surging fire which motivated them to save everyone. They had their only map that is Sander Solly, he might not seem like it but he is excellent in geography and has gone to levels excelling in it. He has even lead a group to a place with no map and compass. So, everyone trusted him with all their hearts to lead them to Ermile Tower. This journey was gonna to be tough, but with the travelling expert they thought it could become at least a bit easier. Until they knew where they were going, it was fine. Well they were scared and could feel goosebumps killing them, “but the first time is always scary” was the words from the legendary Sander Solly. They could trust him right?
