Casualty
Aeschylus — ‘In war, truth is the first casualty.’

Oil despoiled copius wasteland
blued black razor wire thin edge
petal crushed poppy undertones
guzzling Chardonnay grappling iron
lung slaughter whitewash
Crostini Cabal’s mandibular crank
turning imaginary windmills
Blow blow blow the men down
a hand rocking to the Luddite loom
pulleys unravel loosely life’s
twill worsted tweedyheist threads
shanked blanket hoodiehooks
crocheted new look fashion branded
news eye spies in the sky
Chaos
Looking down on us
peak viewing boho bigotry ministry
blagged somatic zither seeds
broadcast to wilder wind furrows
trenching tool burrows
callous expendable youth
the sorrow of mudlarks
buried full fathom below
But how would we know?
The first casualty
As ever in War
Is the Truth
*************
Aeschylus — ‘In war, truth is the first casualty.’
