My introduction to NASA was the excitement leading up to the Challenger launch. My teacher held me in the hall while I cried.
Family members cooked food for the wreckage recovery teams after Columbia disintegrated on re-entry. Important pieces of the shuttle were found in an area that is my personal heaven.
It took thirteen minutes for Integrity to make it through the atmosphere. I didn't know thirteen minutes was such a long time.
All life on Earth came from the ocean, and it was the ocean that first hugged the crew when they came home safely.
The moon used to be part of Earth. For ten days, we were one again.
