Art and Thoughts #1
I've been writing and drawing most of my life. In fact, I've I held a pencil for sketching a lot longer than for writing stories. And in fact, in my spare time growing up, I used to have sketchbooks and writing tablets. Sometimes I drew in my tablets because I liked drawing more than I did writing. As a dyslexic, writing wasn't enjoyable at times. And of course, mostly for myself because I didn't have internet at the time. And not really a whole lot of friends to share work with. The internet was something I learned about in middle school and didn't become well acquainted with until some years later. And even then, the idea of sharing art and writing wasn't something I did until I was an adult.
And I've always draw my characters for fun.
Today's drawing is once again Cato.
I don't know why he is easy to draw when I just need a warm up. I find it fun looking at photos of men's clothing and picking out something suits him personal tastes and meets, as I put it in Claws of Ice Wings of Fire, casual fancy. And embroidered button up shirts falls under casual fancy.
And speaking of fancy, there is nothing fancy about this drawing. #2 pencil, brick eraser, in the journal I use as sketchbook.
I might do something more involved and detailed later as I see how this sort of thing goes. Just so you know, as someone who is from Substack, I'm not using this place as a Substack replacement. All my writing will stay there unless I'm compelled to share something.
