Another Redo (sorta)
I think it finally happened

Hey I'm sorry if the music postings are getting on anyone's nerves. I'll chill out on it soon, get back to poetry and stories.
But this is an issue I've been wrestling with for years, and now that it seems I've gotten a breakthrough… well yes I'm quite excited. No techie details here (because I don't understand a lot of it myself, and I certainly would not speak as an expert), except to say that apparently oxidation built up in the input jack of the recorder I use; not particularly perceptible for a long while, but eventually, like recently, it became unavoidable. Basically it was interfering with the signal.
So there is this stuff that's supposed to deoxidize the oxidation. Finally broke down and ordered some… just a couple squirts in the input hole… holy shit. I'm wondering if it was in there when I ordered it years ago, just didn't know or notice; could've sat in a warehouse of a couple years. I'm even starting to wonder if that was an issue with a unit I was using way back in mid-2000s. Anyway there's this term, LUFs, like a loudness meter, which can be detected by online checkers. I think the standard is -14. Mine usually topped out around -19 to -16. And then I would go to Audacity or Reaper to nudge it up enough without clipping. Even then…
But now it looks like I finally got the LUFs into the optimal range, and did so all on the standalone unit. So I'm feeling pretty damn celebratory today. The actual playing isn't so hot and the composition is pretty simple/standard/basic. I was just wanting to see if that deoxidation spray really worked. Apparently so. Just a couple squirts in that input hole.
