all of the things that you are
a poem for my substack crush. never find this pls.

sunlight threaded through your eyelashes,
the world going amber at the edges
driving at 5 a.m. when the roads are yours,
the light not yet light, just blue
a ballad of crashing waves,
cold and dark and fully alive
the first peach of summer,
soft skinned and dripping sugar
grass-stained knees
the evidence of being somewhere wholly
a symphony warming up
the gorgeous noise of it before it becomes music
the moment before the winning move,
when you can see it all and your hands are shaking anyway
birthday candles, shooting stars, 11:11
every wish I know how to make
all of this to say you are everything
