All I Want Is - Aap Jaisa Koi
A Movie Review

Aap Jaisa Koi , a Bollywood romance showcasing the typical love story of two people falling in love and somehow falling apart because they apparently didn’t know each other at all and we all know what happens next . But what is interesting is the touch of toxic feminism which we’ll get into later . First we’ll go ahead with the plot . The story starts with Shrirenu Tripathi , a Sanskrit teacher and 40 year year old bachelor tryna find himself a wife and Madhu Bose , a French teacher and 30 year old girl ready to get married with someone she loves . They both meet on a arranged date by their families and slowly fall for each other , their bond grows over time and it’s adorable to watch . But one day , Shri gets to know about an “ App “ that Madhu uses of which he and the “ Society ” doesn’t approve of and is something a woman shouldn’t do . And then to worsen their relationship comes Madhu’s long time ex Namit . This complex scenario is carried forward till the time Shrirenu realises his mistake . A parallel to this is the story of Shrirenu’s brother’s wife and Madhu’s uncle .
I found that the movie was good entertainment and really cute to watch and the songs are addictive . Something that I don’t like about the movie is the toxic feminism . The portrayal of a strong , independent and bold woman as that of someone who can only do the opposite of the society’s expectations and is dominant . Yes , there are some parts of which I appreciate where it is shown how she respects her culture and traditions but also knows how to fight for herself and know where she stands . But sometimes it is important to portray a clear the difference between the blurring line of being assertive and dominant . But overall I will give it a solid 7.75/10 .
And I would really recommend listening to the songs of this movies ( that I have been obsessed with ) , especially Mila Tujhe and Saare Jag Mein .
